The point is not only annoying SEO. This directly affects balance of trade, elsewhere in Europe options exists for users to choose their own language. Here in the UK we are getting flooded with .com sites so that products from UK are constantly being pushed into UK only search. This shows how Google's near monopoly can be a very very dangerous service and have far larger repercussions than mere SEO moans. How does one make the DTi aware of this?

There is something else going on here with Google. Cutts is not giving a straight answer.

1) He just doesn't understand. He thinks that us Brits are moaning that there are .com results in our UK search. Which is ridicuous. Millions of UK sites have .com. That is not the problem.
2) They want us to do double the searches here until we get the right results.
3) It could be that they want US companies to perform better worldwide
4) The other point is that Google is not as clever as perhaps we think it is.

Great Article Andy.

Has he ever given a straight up answer in any of his videos........ever?

It would be interesting to see his response to that Texas camping example you gave. I am sure he would manage to swerve it with his typical politician's response though.
